PART 2

PART 2 — The Princess Who Refused the Throne

By sunrise, the entire world knew her name.

Every news channel carried the same headline.

The Missing Princess of Velkria Is Alive.

Helicopter footage of the Grand Bellemore Hotel flooded social media.

Millions watched videos of the terrified maid fleeing armed men through the hotel.

The story spread across America overnight.

But inside a quiet Manhattan penthouse, Princess Alina sat alone staring out the window.

She felt no victory.

Only exhaustion.

For years she had survived by being invisible.

Now the whole world was looking at her.

A knock sounded at the door.

Richard entered carrying coffee.

"You should eat something."

Alina barely looked at him.

"They found me."

Richard set the cup down.

"And they failed."

Alina shook her head.

"You don't understand."

She stood and walked toward the window.

"When I was eight years old, they murdered my parents."

Her voice remained calm.

Too calm.

"The palace burned."

"The guards died."

"Everyone who protected me disappeared."

Richard remained silent.

"I spent seventeen years hiding."

She turned toward him.

"And now the people who destroyed my family know exactly where I am."

For the first time, Richard saw how frightened she truly was.

Not for herself.

For everyone around her.

Including him.

Before he could respond, his phone rang.

The caller ID displayed a private diplomatic number.

Richard answered.

His expression changed instantly.

"What?"

Several seconds passed.

Then he looked at Alina.

"They found someone."

Alina froze.

"What do you mean?"

Richard lowered the phone.

"A former member of your father's Royal Guard."

For a moment she couldn't breathe.

"Alive?"

Richard nodded.

"He arrived in New York this morning."

An hour later, a black SUV pulled into an underground parking garage.

A gray-haired man stepped out.

His face carried old scars.

His posture remained military despite his age.

The second he saw Alina, he dropped to one knee.

Tears filled his eyes.

"Your Highness."

Alina stared.

Then recognition slowly appeared.

A memory.

A voice.

A face from long ago.

"Commander Viktor?"

The old soldier nodded.

The room fell silent.

For years everyone believed the royal guards had been killed.

Yet somehow one had survived.

Viktor reached inside his coat.

Carefully.

Slowly.

He removed a weathered leather folder.

Its edges were burned.

The royal seal remained visible.

Alina's hands trembled.

"What is that?"

The old soldier looked directly into her eyes.

"The truth."

Richard stepped closer.

Viktor opened the folder.

Inside were photographs.

Government records.

Bank transfers.

Signed documents.

Evidence collected for nearly two decades.

Then Alina saw a familiar face.

One she had hoped never to see again.

A powerful businessman.

A billionaire.

A respected international leader.

The man whose company helped finance the coup that destroyed Velkria.

Alina's blood ran cold.

"No..."

Viktor nodded grimly.

"The attack on your family was never a rebellion."

He pointed to the documents.

"It was a business deal."

The room became silent.

Richard stared at the evidence.

Stunned.

Because the conspiracy reached far beyond a small European kingdom.

It connected politicians.

Corporations.

And some of the most powerful people on Earth.

Alina slowly closed the folder.

For years she had been running.

For years she had been hiding.

For years she had survived.

But now she finally understood something.

The people hunting her were afraid.

Not because she was a princess.

Because she was the last witness.

The last surviving heir.

And the only person capable of exposing everything.

Alina looked toward the Manhattan skyline.

The fear in her eyes slowly disappeared.

Something else replaced it.

Determination.

Richard noticed immediately.

"What are you thinking?"

Alina turned toward him.

For the first time since the hotel attack, she smiled.

A real smile.

The smile of a queen.

"They spent seventeen years trying to erase my family."

She picked up the folder.

"Now it's my turn."

Richard raised an eyebrow.

"Your turn to do what?"

Alina looked directly at him.

Then spoke the words that would change everything.

"I'm going home."

Far away, across the Atlantic Ocean, in the royal capital of Velkria...

A television screen showed Alina's face.

Several powerful men watched in silence.

One of them slowly stood.

His expression darkened.

Then he uttered four chilling words:

May you like

"Kill her before she arrives."

To be continued...
